The movie was created amid the Great War Centenary, for the art center La Brasserie. Located in Foncquevillers in immediate proximity with the front line, trenches ran across the building which was at the heart of the conflict. The movie deals with the subject of "La Fureur de Vivre", echoing the intellectual, literary and artistic movement Dada, born at the same time.
Le film a été créé dans le cadre de la commémoration de la Grande Guerre, pour le centre d’art La Brasserie. Situé à Foncquevillers, il fut jadis au coeur du conflit à proximité immédiate de la ligne de front, traversé par des tranchées. Le film traite du thème « La Fureur de Vivre », en écho au mouvement intellectuel, littéraire et artistique Dada, né à la même époque.

After a bombardment, the Zoo of Gaza was hit and the Zebra disappeared. It was impossible to bring a new one. The Palestinians then chose an original solution: with a little paint, donkeys became zebras.
Après un bombardement, le zoo de Gaza a été touché et le zèbre a disparu. Il n’était pas possible d’en faire venir un autre. Les Palestiniens ont alors choisi une solution originale: après quelques coups de peintures, des ânes sont devenus des zèbres.

May 2 2005.11 AM, check point-Erez, crossing between Gaza and Israel, my goal: visit Gaza. Presentation of my passport, verification, a long hour elapses, comes the validation, just keep on going to the next point, a long hour elapses, suddenly a loudspeaker screams out my name, next move is to appear before the barred door, between two towers, the metal door then opens, forward I step, the door closes, STOP, scream out the reawakened loudspeakers, thus I abruptly stop, and wait for the next command, HANDS UP, STEP FORWARD, TURN, AGAIN, STEP FORWARD, STOP, on an asphalt road, I'm now surrounded by two eight meter walls, STEP FORWARD, coming to the next barred door, I wait, the cameras search, and the metal door opens, the door closes, as I walk on, the walls still remain, I arrive to Gaza.
2 mai 2005,11h00, point de passage d’Erez, entre la bande de Gaza et Israël, je souhaite aller à Gaza. Présentation des passeports, vérification, une heure s’écoule, validation, il est possible d’y aller, une heure s’écoule, un haut-parleur crache mon nom, je dois me présenter devant la porte à barreaux, entre deux miradors, la porte métallique s’ouvre, j’avance, la porte se referme, j’avance, STOP, les haut-parleurs hurlent, je m’arrête, j’attends, MAINS EN L’AIR, AVANCEZ, TOURNEZ-VOUS, ENCORE, AVANCEZ, STOP, je suis sur une route d’asphalte, bordée par deux murs de huit mètres de haut, AVANCEZ, j’arrive à une deuxième porte à barreaux, j’attends, les caméras cherchent, j’attends, la porte métallique s’ouvre, j’avance, la porte se referme, je marche, les murs sont toujours là, j’arrive à Gaza.

These pictures are taken with an 8mm camera, showing a happy family from the years 1968 to 1981. They are shown with 8 screens installed vertically next to each other. The visitors turn around these screens.
Une caméra familiale de 8mm a filmé de 1968 à 1981 des images de bonheur. Elles sont diffusées par huit moniteurs installés côte à côte verticalement. Les visiteurs tournent autour de ce dispositif.
